Breath of the Sea- Your Perfect Juneau Day!

Whale hello there yogis!

In the last few days it feels like the tide has turned and spring in Alaska has settled in. And we’re not just soaking up the sunshine…. We’re soaking up all of the magic of spring! The dandelions have bloomed; painting the meadows and roadsides with bursts of golden yellow. The air feels lighter, the sun lingers longer, and everything- from the forest to the coastline feels alive. We cannot help but be reminded how special Juneau truly is. While people around the world dream of glimpsing a humpback whale’s tail breaking the ocean’s surface or breathing deep in the stillness of the coastal rainforest, it’s a weekend reality for us!

We are beyond excited to invite you to something truly special this summer.

Breath of the Sea- Yoga & Whale Watching with Jayleens Alaska on June 7th from 11am-4pm. This is a unique and exhilarating experience that combines the serenity of yoga with the thrill of whale watching., You'll not only connect with your body and mind, but also with the natural world and its incredible wonders.

Here is what your perfect Juneau day looks like:

Yoga at the ABY studio

We will start this experience by unwinding with a 1hr long rejuvenating yoga class at our tranquil studio. Designed to connect you to your body, breath and the natural beauty that surrounds us. After yoga we will collectively take a leisurely stroll to the nearby dock.

On the Water with Jayleen’s Alaska

We will then board one of Jayleen's Alaska's boats and set off into the open waters, where you'll have the chance to spot majestic whales in their natural habitat during your 3hr boat ride. With Breath of the Sea, you'll not only connect with your body and mind, but also with the natural world and its incredible wonders.

Reserve your spot- Spaces are limited! Only 6 participants per tour to ensure a private, cozy, and personal experience for everyone.

Trust me, this is an experience you will never forget and will make you marvel on the interconnected wonders that surround us at all times. See you on the water!

All the best,

Kassie & ABY Team

Land Acknowledgement: It is our privilege and honor at Auke Bay Yoga to live, work, and practice here on Lingít Aani, on the unceded territory of the Áak'w Kwáan who have resided in this area since time immemorial, and who have historically been displaced from what we know today as Berners Bay and the Auke Bay areas of D'zantiki Héeni, known by its colonized name of Juneau.

We would also like to recognize our relatives of the Taku River, the T'aaku Kwáan who came to reside at Anax Ya Andagan Ye' otherwise known as South Douglas, without recognizing them would further contribute to the erasure of their very existence and the many contributions they have made to this community in the past, now, and in the future. The T'aaku are our relatives, we care for them, and are thankful for the stewardships they too will continue to make in perpetuity.

Gunalchéesh to the Áak'w Kwáan for your continued stewardship and guidance as we move forward together recognizing the historical and ongoing harms of colonialism. We humbly give thanks to the land and its ancestors for their wisdom, strength, and generosity. May we honor and protect this sacred earth together for generations to come.
