Whether you are new to yoga or coming back, this series offers compassionate, accessible support to feel more comfortable with practice. Lead by Lisa Dumas, Yoga Therapist and 500 hr YT. All are welcome. You’ll Get: -Extra time to explore postures, with suggestions and modifications to tailor the practice to YOU. -An introduction to how movement and breath supports our physical and mental health. -Breath techniques that can enhance and support your movement, your mood and your energy level. -Tools for meditation and getting the most out of class by bringing your own intentions and mindfulness practice with you. Saturday, Feb 3: The Physical Body Ground and focus on presence to begin a compassionate dialogue with your body Saturday, Feb 10: The Breath Breath techniques that can support you on and off the mat. Explore guided visualization on the yogic “energetic architecture of the human body”. Saturday, Feb 17: The Mind Tools to focus and rest the mind during movement, including meditation skills before, after, and during practice. Includes an extended guided relaxation experience will be offered to close this week’s offering. Saturday, Feb 24: The Heart Putting it all together. Yin, restorative, and body-centered awareness during a yoga nidra (deep relaxation) supine meditation. You may like to bring a journal and pen, a bottle of water and socks to stay warm during times of guided relaxation.
