Trauma-Informed Yoga: Weekend Intensive

Study deep. We are so honored to welcome David Westlake the first week of October. He’ll be offering an intensive weekend workshop to study trauma-informed yoga. The phrase “trauma informed” is everywhere these days, including in the world of yoga. What does it mean to call something trauma informed? What exactly is trauma informed yoga? Is it really yoga? How might it be relevant to the modern world? There are so many answers. You may have your own. This workshop dives into these questions, perhaps many others while offering the groundwork for a trauma informed yoga practice. It will investigate common perceptions about trauma, its connection to addiction, grief and societal structures. We’ll also consider ideas about yoga, and the relationships between the two. Feel free to reach out for more information. Those attending are invited to participate in this inquiry through discussion, classes and group work. The purpose is to provide a starting point and community for those interested in this type of work. If you teach yoga or work with the public in any healing / guiding / facilitating capacity, this workshop will offer compassionate insight to do so with grace. All sessions will include practice, pranayama + meditation, and discussion on rich and relevant trends and experiences in yoga. Can’t commit to the whole weekend?
